The original Makkala Dhama started in a cowshed in 2009 with just 5 children. Today, the vision is to create a children’s sanctuary or Makkala Dhama shelter for 300 boys. At Sparsha, we strive to ensure protection and support to these kids with various educational and development programs.
Many a times we have talked about the bright future of India. But, never have I believed in it, until today, when I was there at the inauguration of Nisarga Grama. I bow down to each one of you, who have contributed in your own way for this dream to become a reality.
It is easy to write a cheque across the table, but to actually give time and effort to make a whole project become reality is truly commendable. Gopinath and his team remind me of the saying of Mahatma Gandhi - "Show me the purpose, the means will follow".
Mr. Gopinath has faced struggles and obstacles to make each of Sparsha’s vision a success. But, there’s always a rainbow at the end of it all and that’s the golden part! Nisarga Grama is that golden part! We are proud that your combined responsibility is providing people with food and shelter. The Nisarga Grama project fits perfectly into our responsibility and we are very proud to be associated!
I pray that Gopinath and all the other members of Sparsha continue to work on making their projects a success. I greatly appreciate their sheer dedication for this (Nisarga Grama) great cause and working relentlessly on bringing up the society through children’s empowerment, education and shelter.
Our overall association with Sparsha focuses on these objectives - sustainable environment, education, employment, poverty, malnutrition, health care, gender equality and woman empowerment. We greatly value this partnership in making a difference in the lives of all the children of Nisarga Grama. We are looking forward to establishing a long sustainable partnership with the organization, beyond just contributing financially and be an active participant in the journey of Sparsha.
