    Project – Makkala Dhama

    We are excited to announce our latest project: Makkala Dhama (children’s sanctuary) to be located in Devanahalli, Bangalore North. This new facility will provide shelter and education for 300 boys in need. This will be an eco-sustainable vocational training centre with dormitory, dining hall and trained staff.     Dr.D.S. Krishna, who is the president of Sparsha Trust, come from a rural background family. Having completed his schooling from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, located in ( ),
     
    He went on to finish his graduation and pursue his Masters In Social Work. He has a vast experience on educational issues and was awarded a doctorate degree from Mysore University in 2018.
     
    He was an organizing committee member for many state and national level educational seminars which provided key inputs for policy makers. A Syndicate Member of Bangalore University.
     
    He is also a Member of Court, Hyderabad Central University and a member of National Monitoring Committee(NMC) for Education of a Scheduled castes (SCs),Scheduled Tribes (STs) and persons with Disabilities (PwDs), Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt of India.
    Mr. Gopinath. R is the Managing Trustee and founder of Sparsha Trust. He is from a family with agricultural background near Kolar, Karnataka. After completing his Masters In Social Work in 2004, he involved himself in different social activities from his school days.
     
    Having undergone a difficult time during this children and youth, he started Sparsha Trust along with others with the primary objective to place non-enrolled children to school.
     
    He worked hard to make Sparsha Trust a strong organization. Since 2009, more than 3000 children are rescued and rehabilitated. Sparsha Trust has won the best Non-Government Organization (NGO) for 2014 and 2017 from the State Government.
     
    Gopinath was honored with the Sri Sri Award given to the best social worker by Art of Living. He is a Member of State Independent Impartial Committee, which is been Constituted by Supreme Court of India to monitor the Urban homeless issues in Karnataka. Gopinath has also attended various National and International Seminars and Conferences with regard to child issues.
    Wing Commander R. Srinivasa Murthy joined the Indian Air Force in 1963 as a pilot after his graduation. During his career spanning more than 30 years,
     
    he has flown many multi engine transport aircraft. He has not only taken part in 3 major wars that India fought but also was a part of many peace keeping operations within and outside the country.
     
    An able administrator, he managed the Bangalore Golf Club for over 9 years and streamlined its administrative operations.
     
    A keen traveller, he has visited more than 20 countries.A keen bridge player, he is now a full time Trustee in charge of the construction of the integrated shelter, ‘Nisarga Grama’.
    Mr.Srikanth Ekambaram is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, and is currently the Chief Finance Officer of Terex in India. He has a rich experience of 25+ years working with couple of Foreign and Indian multinationals like ALSTOM/Areva, Volvo and SRF.
     
    He has been actively involved with Sparsha Trust since 2010. One of the committee members for the “Nisarga Grama” project, he has worked extensively, including raising funds, to bring it to its current shape.
     
    He gives a lot of positive energy to the team, especially during its tough phases. He and his wife are directly associated with the Center in Sanjeevini Nagar. Right from organising milk for the children on a daily basis, (through a Doctor who supports the cause), the couple supports by providing books and bags for the children at the beginning of the academic year, new clothes for the children during festival etc.
     
    He oversees the financials of the Sparsha Trust to ensure proper accounting.
    Mrs. Rupa Mahajan is the Trustee of Sparsha Trust. She is a B.A. graduate from Bangalore University.
     
    She is an active social worker and has been dedicatedly working with Sparsha Trust since 2009 for the betterment of underprivileged children.
     
    She spends considerable time in helping the children in English literacy, counselling, initiating creativity like art and craft, drama, bakery, etc., Her goal is to empower the underprivileged for their better future.
    Mr. Shashidhar M. Kotian B.E. ,M.Tech, who is a native of Mangalore, is a Post graduate in Mechanical Engineering, working as a Asst. Manager in Kennametal India Ltd.,
     
    He is very passionate about spreading technical knowledge among the students. One of the major supporters of Sparsha Trust since its initial days, he build a team called “Neralu” in Kennametal to support the organization.
     
    He has been there since Makkala Dhama, one of Sparsha Trust’s project was there in a cowshed. He has not only volunteered his time but also motivated team members to contribute part of their monthly salaries to the cause.
     
    The team, which has nearly 200 members, is doing a great job. Shashidhar joined the Sparsha Board after supporting all activities of Sparsha for around 6 years as a volunteer.
     
    He is “The man behind the curtain” in the success of all major events of Sparsha. He plays a major role in leading Nisarga Grama children shelter of Sparsha.
    Mrs. Prameela S.R. is an active social worker and has 20 years of experience in social service. She has worked as a volunteer for different NGOs working for the development of Underprivileged and destitute women and children.
     
    She was involved in the formation of children’s associations of child labourers, slum children, etc., She has actively participated in adult literacy program for slum women and many health camps.
     
    Prameela has been contributing her service to Sparsha Trust since 2006.
    Ms. Geetha B. is an MSW graduate and currently associated with Altran Technologies Ltd as Manager – HR. She was previously associated with MindTree for 5 years.
     
    She has around 11 years of hands on experience in Human Resources. Geetha is part of Sparsha team from 2006.
     
    She is been contributing on various CSR activities like distributing school kits, books for Sparsha Children.
     
    Her passion towards working with children made her to be a part of Sparsha.
    Mr. Ramakrishna. A.B. is an MSW graduate, He comes from an agricultural family from Chickaballpur District, Karnataka and is currently associated with a leading diamond manufacturing company in Diamond city -Surat, Gujarat as Head –HR & Admin.
     
    He is a seasoned professional with over 13+ years of experience in HR & Admin Operations.
     
    He has been a part of Sparsha Trust since 2006 and takes care of the organization’s ESIC, PF and other administration work
    Mr.Ranganatha GR, is an HR Professional, currently, associated with Kellogg India as,Associate Director – HR.
     
    After pursuing his Degree in Professional Social Work, specialization in IR& PM fromGarden City College, Bengaluru, he has worked with multiple MNC’s in his last 14 years of experience which includes GE & ABB at various capacities in different locationsacross India. He has been awarded “Young Achiever” for his achievements and contribution to the human resource development field.
     
    He also holds a post-graduation degree on “Professional Counselling and
    Psychotherapy” from Kuvempu University. He holds life membership from NHRD and National Institute of Personnel Management. He is a founding member of Sparsha Trust.
